Use Utterli to Market your Podcast

Utterli is a hybrid social media posting site where you can upload multiple types of media and post on a timeline. And before you say, “This is starting to sound a lot like Pownce”, let me point out one big difference. On Utterli, you can create and upload voice files.

That option makes this a great structure for podcast marketing. If you will take a look at the right side of this picture, you will see an option for calling in and recording a voice “utter”. It is easy enough to record a portion of your actual podcast, or, leave a message that sums up your podcast. Once that is completed, it is posted to your stream like any other update.

In the event that you want to create a podcast and don’t have the platform in place, Utterli offers the opportunity for a live group call. Much like BlogTalkRadio, users can call in, make a recording and post it.

It is easy for a follower to subscribe to your utters. And, your utter stream can also be syndicated. So every time you post a podcast, it will be delivered via RSS to the subscriber’s reader. Simple!

Utterli hasn’t taken off in the way some social media sites have…I think they are steadily growing, but some of their features aren’t developed yet. There is a groups feature that has great potential, but it doesn’t seem like many people are using it. This may pick up over time, and I hope it does. A robust groups feature would definitely make this site a bit more engaging. All in all, it is a site that has a lot of potential…hopefully, it will continue to develop.
