Top Ten Twitter Tools
There are so many outside applications for Twitter…some of which are purely fun, and others that are really helpful. Some of these applications are more helpful than others for bloggers, others are helpful for business owners. Take a look and see which of these will help you maximize the social media marketing benefit of Twitter and minimize the black hole effect.
Twistory: this is a simple application that collects all of your tweets and imports them to a calendar. While
this may or may not be helpful for a social user, it can be very beneficial for a small business owner who is implementing a specific Twitter strategy.
TweetGrid: is an application that allows you to manage mulitple Twitter accounts, as well as track multiple global searches at the same time. For efficiency, this is a real winner.
TweetLater: allows you to schedule tweets for the future. This is particularly useful for links you know you will want to share, such as blog posts.
Twitoria: I absolutely love this tool because it searches through the people you follow and identifies those who are no longer active. It is a great way to prune the deadwood out of your followings.
BubbleTweet: This feature creates a short video for use as a Twitter bio. I like the idea of adding a personal touch to your profile. However, you don’t want to use the link space on your bio to link to the video. Add a shortened version of the link in your bio. And be sure to include your keyword descriptors in the bio, too.
Twitter100: This is a simple application that lets you identify those that you interact with the most.
Twitscoop: is a tool for tracking trending topics on Twitter. This is useful to see what conversations are dominating the space. You can also find out what people are saying about specific search terms.
My Tweeple: pulls up all of the people you follow and that follow you. It is a great way to find out who you have been following, but hasn’t returned the favor. This is helpful in preventing a glut of follows and not a lot of followers.
Twittersnooze: this allows you to put chatty friends on pause…which can be helpful if someone is posting about a conference that you have no interest in. Twittersnooze briefly unfollows the person, then automatically re follows them in the future.
Tweetdeck: my all time favorite Twitter client. This is definitely the best desktop client. It allows you to segment the people you follow into streams, as well as create global search categories.
These are my top ten Twitter Tools…hopefully, you will find some applications that are helpful. Rather than try them all at once, give a couple a try and see how you like them. And remember, if the application becomes more work than Twitter itself, there’s no point in using it.

Bubble Tweet is awesome, never knew that you could even do something like it. This is a really great top ten list, you can post this to our site http://www.toptentopten.com/ and then link back to your site. We are looking for top ten lists and our users can track back to your site. The coolest feature is you can let other people vote on the rankings of your list.

[...] Top Ten Twitter Tools Sorry, but we do have to have one Twitter list in here. My favorite is TweetDeck, and I use Twitterfeed for this blog. They don’t mention Tweleted, which is pretty interesting too. Don’t use it if you’re paranoid. And if ten Twitter tools aren’t enough for you, you could have a look at this list of the Top 100 Twitter Tools. [...]
