Whether you have a personal blog or a business blog, you cannot overlook the importance of contact information and information about you and your site.

Why is contact information so important? Aside from the obvious way of contacting you, it adds some legitimacy to your site. Pair it with more ways to contact you and some information about you as an author - and about page, for example - and your blog becomes more personalized. Puts a face behind the words. And this is key to connecting with your audience.

Here are some tips:

• Place your contact information ‘above the fold’ - in the sidebars or header befure scrolling is needed
• Provide at minimum the name of the author(s) of the blog and email addresses/forms
• Provide phone numbers, especially for business blogs and potential contacts
• Link to an about page with a bio and intention of the blog
• Place a picture in the sidebar and/or about page
• Add other contact means: Skype being most popular
