The rumors are that Yahoo!, consistently one of the top 3 sites on Alexa and an online powerhouse, is considering buying Digg, a very popular tech-focused social bookmarking site.
Considering that Yahoo! has recently purchased Del.icio.us, Flickr, OddPost, and other ‘happening’ social sites, it only makes sense to add Digg to the foray.

Yahoo! has puchased some fabulous Web 2.0 companies lately (Flickr, Del.icio.us, OddPost). Unfortunatly, earnings were a penny short of estimates and the great buys just weren’t enough to please Wall St. From the Internet Stock Blog:

Jeremy Zawodny of Yahoo! complained of Feedster’s poor performance on his blog yesterday.
Is it just me, or has Feedster been completely useless for over 6 months now? I have no idea if it’s related to the recent departure of Scott Rafer (former CEO) and Scott Johnson (former co-founder), but I’m amazed at how bad it [...]

Google executives can stop shaking just a bit as Steve Ballmer agressively denies the rampant rumors that Microsoft is courting Yahoo!.
While denials in business don’t always ring true, this one seems too astronomical to be seriously considered. Though, keep in mind, stranger bedfellows have recently joined forces. (WeblogsInc+AOL, , Ebay+Skype, Yahoo!+Flickr, and AOL+Google)
