Reddit.com for Content Promotion

There are many services out there that allow you to submit your posts or the posts of others and subsequently vote on the popularity of the posts. For example, Digg.com is one of the largest content contribution sites, and is very technology-centric in focus. However, Digg frowns on self-submission, which makes it hard to use for content promotion.

Reddit.com is another contribution site and is subdivided into many content areas such as Science, Web 2.0, or Celebrities (own URL: lipstick.com). Reddit does not frown as heavily on self-submission:

Submitting personal work isn’t taboo, but trying to flood reddit with every blog entry you’ve ever written is certain to be punished. [link]

Choosing carefully your key posts and submitting them to a Reddit.com site (the bookmarklets are great) can garner you hundreds of new visitors and potential new subscribers.
