Multidimensional Business Blogging

As you’ve read in other blog posts, blogging is a multidimensional online marketing tool. It is not, as many people believe, simply an online journaling opportunity. It’s certainly not just an online soap box, though some people may treat it as such.

Blogging is a fabulous marketing tool for businesses; particularly business that have websites. It’s true that you can use a blog to promote a brick and mortar business but you really cannot receive all of the benefits a blog has to offer if you are not using it to market an online business.

Then again, blog marketing can be used in various different ways to market your website. Many businesses use their blog to promote services rendered or products available on their site. Blogs should always be used to build your search engine rep. Also, blogs can also be used as another money-making opportunity for your business.

Take for example: shesheblog.com. I use this blog to promote my website, but further still I use it as an additional online money-making opportunity via affiliate marketing. As much as I utilize affiliate marketing on the website itself, I can further promote products for the advertisers I am affiliated with in each of my blog posts.

Shesheme.com is an ezine. It is not a service. We don’t sell many products. What we do is inform and give advice. I can use this blog to interact with my readers. They can submit questions to me and receive answers with advice including photos and links to specific product I’d recommend.

For my business, a blog is more than a marketing tool; it helps to create a sense of loyalty and a sense of community among the writers and the readers. Though we write under the names of fictional women (She She Me, Girly, Shop Girl), our readers can interact with us individually through the blog.

Blogging is so often neglected in the online business community. But you can see here how versatile the marketing opportunities can be through the utilization of blogging. Business blogging is not about voicing your opinion; it’s about getting ahead of the competition.
