Malware targetting RSS feed readers
The Darkreading security magazine posted an interesting article about the increase of a type of malware targetting RSS feed readers.
Users of desktop feed readers are particularly at risk if they don’t keep their feed readers up to date with the latest security additions.
And while practically all RSS feed readers prohibit execution of javascript or other kinds of cross-site scripting, they can’t prevent users from clicking on innocently-disguised links to malware websites. So reader beware.
