Increase Your Exposure by Commenting on Other Blogs
Finding other blogs to comment on and get involved with is a great idea if you are looking to add some extra exposure to your blog, and to your business in general. Blogs by nature are a social medium, and more and more companies are finding that they can increase their brand exposure by getting involved in the social side of the internet.
So what should you look for when you are commenting on other blogs? Here is a small list of thing to consider:
Related Topic or Content
Try to stick with those blogs, or at least blog posts, that deal with a topic that relates to your site. This way you know that you are putting your name in front of the right market.
Quality Blogs
You don’t want to waste your time just commenting or getting involved on any old blog out there. Look for key indicators of quality such as PageRank, Alexa Score, number of subscribers, etc. Another way to tell if a blog is worth your time is to see if other people are leaving comments as well. If people are leaving comments, we can assume there is at least some amount of good readership.
Unique Names
Another thing to look for that goes along with quality is to check and see if the blog has its own domain name. For example, if the blog is a free Blogger, WordPress, or TypePad blog the chances are it isn’t that great of a blog. This is not always the case, so make sure to see if they have a readership as well before just writing them off.
In summary, you should spend some time getting your name on other blogs through commenting. Spend time to find the quality blogs that are worth the link, but make sure you dedicate some time each week to this activity for blog promotion and exposure.
