Google takes on global warming, buys the Earth.

Google\'s logo - highly visible on search enginesI expect to read that headline tomorrow, but in the meantime Google did recently buy DoubleClick, emboldening their advertising empire further. To add to Google’s dominance in online advertising, Yahoo! has agreed to try serving Google ads next to Yahoo! search results. I never thought I’d say this, but thank goodness for Microsoft. This blog covers topics about blog marketing, blog optimization, search engine visibility, social media marketing, and anything else that might benefit your business relating to new media and search engines. News like Google and Yahoo! teaming up just solidifies how important all of these topics are.

I’m not anti-Google, and despite my Macbook and iPhone I’m not anti-Microsoft either. I do find that giant companies dominating a particular market space aren’t usually thinking about the small or medium business, and the more consolidated things become the more expensive they become (supply and demand.) So while Google’s success is ultimately great for the consumer, it means that organic search engine visibility becomes more critical as pay-per-click ads become more and more competitive.

There are probably at least a million sites covering SEO, so blog.rssapplied.com will continue to focus on how blogging and social media can be leveraged to give companies a fighting chance at being seen and found on search engines.
