Debunking your reasons for not blogging.

Don\'t be afraid, the blog won\'t hurt you.

Businesses have many excuses for why they haven’t added blog marketing to their online mix, but they likely aren’t completely informed.  Here are common reasons given by businesses for why they can’t blog, and information that might change their minds.

I don’t have time to blog every morning or afternoon.

Your day might be full, but what about lunch? What about towards the end of the day?  How about Friday afternoon?  With most popular blog platforms available today, you can write posts in advance and schedule them to post at a certain time.  Find one day a week and write two or three blog posts for the following week.

I don’t have anything to say.

Somehow, this excuse seems the most unlikely.  Start with differentiators between your business and your main competitors and begin writing about why this differentiator is important.  Find assets about your company and write about those.  Talk about goals for the year, and how you plan to achieve them.  Don’t be afraid to expose something about you or your company, it can only help humanize your online efforts.

I’m not very savvy about technology so I don’t think I could create a blog.

This one is very common, and usually about five minutes after a GotoMeeting session with me or a fellow blogger and this fear is gone.  Some blog platforms even have video tutorials to help users get acquainted.  I think you would shocked at how easy updating a blog has become.  If you can type, you can use Wordpress.  It is as easy as writing an email to someone.

Don’t let fear of the unknown keep you from adding blog marketing to the mix of online marketing that helps your business convert customers online, improves search engine visibility, and provide up-to-date content for customers.
