Blog Promotion Via Social Media Sites

Blog Promotion tactics that have been showing great results lately include promoting your blog on popular social media sites where users get to vote on their favorite blog posts and Web pages.

MySpace is one of these sites that bloggers are using more and more often for Blog Promotion.

Loren Baker of Search Engine Journal has tips on how to do Blog Promotion in MySpace:

“MySpace News has launched and they are looking for news sources to include in their index,” Loren writes, adding, that you can submit your blog to MySpace News via their Feed Submit form.

“Using the form, publishers can submit their feed, URL and choose a related news category,” adds Loren, who says that his own site and blog are now submitted, and they are now anticipating referrals from MySpaceNews .

One thing I should add here. On social media sites, the definition of “news” is quite a bit more fluid than on news sites that are edited by journalists.  So if you have a real estate blog with real estate news from your area on it, that would qualify for Blog Promotion through MySpace news.

As Loren explains further, once stories are indexed by the MySpace News Meme-like news tracker, they can be voted upon by readers. And if your post has more votes than others in its category, it will be at the top of the search results and be more visible to MySpace members.

And another good thing about this Blog Promotion resource is that users cannot “stuff the ballot box.” Users have to be MySpace members to vote, but MySpace is also tracking votes by user IP or Cookie. That means they only get to vote once.

This actually helps you- by ensuring the deck is not stacked against you by you having to compete against indexed blogs that have automatic multiple vote technology (either automated or human).
