Blog Marketing Success
Blog marketing puts you where so many companies yet fear to tread. They can only come to regret lagging behind as studies continue to bolster the data that informs us all that buyers are shopping on the web. And not just any buyer.

Buyers who understand videos, blogging and podcasting. Buyers who will utilize every widget, application and service that you have integrated into your blog site platform. A platform that allows you the flexibility to respond to the increasing sophistication of your buyers’ shopping habits.
“Online buyers in the study were more than three times as likely to have written a product review, twice as likely to have posted video content to the Web, and more likely to have written a blog compared to Web surfers who did not make online purchases.”
Consider that a partial profile of your buyer. Now, how many of those buyers match your target market demographics?
Abbey Klaassen at Advertising Age quotes these statistics:
“May web-traffic numbers from ComScore back that up. There are now 4 million 12 to 17 year-old unique visitors and 3.1 million in the 25 to 34 demo. The over 35 crowd has grown by 98% to 10.4 million monthly uniques. The 38% growth in the 18 to 24 year-old demo (which boasts 7.8 million unique visitors) is the slowest growth of all the demos on Facebook over the past year. Facebook has a total of 29 million users.”
Do you see your target market? The Facebook/social networking phenomenon encompasses the type of buyers you have optimized your site and blog to attract. If you have not yet done so, continued research will no doubt convince you that it is time that you did. The “empowered consumer” is looking for you
“The survey also showed that online buyers are early adopters of social networking such as writing or reading blogs, customer reviews, and community websites. They’re more likely to share their opinions and give reviews online than people who shop the old-fashioned way.
“Consumers are increasingly turning to their online community or network for advice,” said Jim Okamura, senior partner at J.C. Williams. “It is indicative of the shift to an empowered consumer and the rapid fragmentation of media channels.”
