Blog Marketing in a Natural Voice
Blog marketing and blog promotion all rest on a foundation of keyword rich, relevant content. At least that is what you hear all the time and you can’t help but think to yourself, “What the heck does this have to do with community and customer conversations and authenticity- those common blogging buzzwords? And what is so authentic about lacing your posts with keywords, anyway?”

All good questions and “In the Art of Blog Marketing“, Lewis Green speaks to some specific characteristics of blogging that , when present, inevitably produce good, keyword laced content.
“The gathering made me think about what brought us and so many of you together. The tool was blogging but the strategy that connects us is that of relationship building. Each of us believes that life and the part of it we call business require the art of connection to grow. Anyone can blog. It doesn’t require either great technical or writing skill to do so. But among the bloggers who I have met in-person and online, a sense of sharing, connecting and getting to know others is inherent within us. And that is a basic principle in marketing.
At the end of the day, marketing is not about products, services, technology, advertising, public relations, or traditional tools. It is about creating connections, what some of us may call experiences. Successful marketing gives people a reason to care about us. In business we may call the “us” our brand. That is also true in life.“
And the good news in that is that writing a post is as natural as the words that roll off the tip of your tongue every single day that you conduct business. Blogging naturally exercises key marketing principles that are universal in business; connection, exchange of value and knowledge, relationship.
Your blog is your online front porch. Folks gathered on the front porch will be there to talk business. That’s why they subscribe to your RSS feed, that is why they bookmark you. And “shop talk” is full of keywords naturally. Not much has to be tweaked and authenticity is not sacrificed when true value is exchanged.
