Avoiding Google’s Supplemental Index

When you start up a site, your number one concern is getting indexed by Google so people can find you. However, one of the unfortunate parts of the process is that, if you do manage to get on, you might not get all the way there. It’s called supplemental indexing - only a partial of your sitemap is indexed. And you can be partially indexed now for a very long time. It’s a trust thing.

So, how do you get Google to trust you and take you off the supplemental index?

Tropical SEO shares some advice on how to avoid Google’s Supplemental Index.

  1. Give each page a unique title
  2. Give each page a unique meta description
  3. Ensure each page has a good amount of textual content
  4. Increase inbound links
  5. Increase inbound links to internal pages not just the index

Good Luck!
