While I was perusing Technorati’s new beta I happened to take a look at the most popular terms, which you can find on their public beta list. It changes on a daily basis.

It’s of interest to note that their number one search today is "podcast". And this term frequently makes their top ten list.

Some quick keyword research on the term at Digital Point tells us that the top ranking sites for this term can expect around "389 visitors/day".

Of course, that doesn’t mean that you should try and optimize your site for the term podcast - particularly if you don’t have one, that would be silly.

The point is, the interest in podcasting is growing by leaps and bounds. Now that it can be as easy as uploading an audio file or even, making a phone call, there’s no reason why your blog can’t incorporate audio. Many blog systems, including Blogsite, are compatible with the RSS enclosure that make podcasting work on your blog.

Especially if talking is as easy as writing for you, it may be time to incorporate podcasting into your marketing plan - when you do, don’t forget to tag your posts.
