4(Easy) Ways to Raise Search Engine Visibility

There are so many factors that could potentially affect your search engine visibility that it can seem daunting. Yet, getting your blog noticed by the bots is important…and getting it noticed in a way that brings the right kind of traffic to your site is even better.

Here are 4 (easy) ways to raise your search engine visibility.

1) Have you registered your site with each of the search engines? Listen, this seems like a no-brainer, but there are plenty (you know who you are) who haven’t done this yet. And if you are relying on those automated submission sites, forget it. Google knows the difference and they don’t like it.

2) While you are at it, do you have a site map in place?  In its most essential form, it is a collection of all of the pages that are on your website. This collection is written in a way that causes the search engines to index it more effectively. If you don’t know how to do this yourself, here’s a free site map builder site to try…and there are others.

3) And how about Google Analytics? In addition to giving you some decent feedback on site traffic, it will help you get indexed more effectively on Google.

4) Match your keywords…the same in the title, text, tags and categories. My only caveat here is don’t overuse them in the post. It makes for horrible reading, which will decrease traffic…

5) Had to throw in this last one…post on topic, consistently. Pick a regular schedule and stick to it…post only about things that are related to your blog. Anything else is distracting.

These are five easy ways to raise your search engine visibility. They take a little time, but the payoff far outweighs the time investment.
