Microsoft’s Bloggers Are The Best PR

Friday, January 27th, 2006

In my opinion, the easiest way to get answers on a technical issue from someone at Microsoft is to find the appropriate blogger.
In the old days (see 5 years ago) you could call their PR firm and get results. However, I know that I have called their PR firm, Waggener Edstrom Inc., [...]

Is Yahoo! Buying Digg?

Thursday, January 26th, 2006

The rumors are that Yahoo!, consistently one of the top 3 sites on Alexa and an online powerhouse, is considering buying Digg, a very popular tech-focused social bookmarking site.
Considering that Yahoo! has recently purchased Del.icio.us, Flickr, OddPost, and other ‘happening’ social sites, it only makes sense to add Digg to the foray.

However, commenting is powerful AND dangerous:
There comes a time in [...]

FeedBurner was quick to announce their partnership with USA Today to provide analytics for their RSS feeds.
FeedFoundry allows commercial publishers to manage hundreds and thousands of feeds with a simple dashboard. Tag feeds to form subcollections for comparative reporting. Manage feeds in bulk, applying sets of services across large collections of feeds with one [...]

Corporate Bloggers Are Hot Commodities

Tuesday, January 24th, 2006

IBM was pleased to see Christopher Barger was writing a blog, even though it had nothing to do with IBM or even technology.
So, about a year ago, he was surprised to learn that his readers included some people he wasn’t counting on: his bosses.
Even though he never blogged about IBM, Barger wasn’t sure how managers [...]

Podcast Collaboration

Monday, January 23rd, 2006

While a successful podcast can have any number of people, there is something to be said for having a group that feeds off of each other to keep the conversation flowing.
A week or two ago I did a podcast as a part of The Podcast Roundtable and it was a great collaborative effort.
I’ve attached the [...]
