Search Engine Exclusivity Feeds Content Promotion Strategy
Promotion that is web-based is transitioning out of a foundation of separated site location and individual content searches. Modern Internet users are demanding more functionality such as is provided through links, site mergers, and attatched search engines. The desire for a more networking-friendly corporate world-wide-web has laid the building block for search engine exclusivity such as is being better exemplified by Google’s latest business endeavor.
The public seems to prefer browsing consistency and an online network that is marketing-friendly while catering to the consumer’s best interest. How better for a business with a priority on content promotion to also incorporate the consumer’s best interest than through exclusive search engines on their site.
Through the agreement between a particular search engine corporation and a company with some serious Internet basis (for now) the visitor can be tracked through their search from the site. The tracking measure includes a level of PR and personal information that is even generating privacy concerns.
The public should go ahead and get used to a leaning toward lack of privacy on the Internet. Honestly, if we wanted better regulation, we wouldn’t access it night and day and every minute inbetween. The companies are getting what they want through content tracking capabilities and as long as they are keeping the public happy, they’ll continue to choose controversy over consideration.
