Google and Adobe Co-Marketing Effort

Adobe and Google are sticking the
annoying Google toolbar in the Adobe reader.  The Adobe Reader is part of an
estimated 55% of internet-enabled desktops.  Dell and Mozilla are other current
Google partners.

And, big business is happy to see
Google’s plans come to fruition:

Google’s deal
with Abode was cheered by Merrill Lynch research analyst Justin Post, who wrote
in a research report this morning that the agreement will better position Google
to compete with Microsoft. Not only does the deal give Google broader
distribution, but it also potentially helps Google develop its own software
products. "Adobe is a formidable partner which could aid in building Google’s
software content suite and potential distribution of web-enabled software
applications," he wrote.

Whether or not the Google toolbar
will replace the current Yahoo! toolbar that is embedded in Macromedia programs
like Shockwave (Macromedia is owned by Adobe) remains to be seen, however, one
thing is certain.  Now, instead of the Yahoo! toolbar being the bane of parents
everywhere, ‘do no evil’ Google is well on the road to becoming the evil
empire…
