I’ve read in recent months of the demise of Technorati and the fact that there are just not useful anymore and I have to say, that is just not the case. Technorati is helpful to me in two ways:

Traffic
Technorati brings me traffic. At least 20% of my traffic to my personal weblog comes from Technorati. Ranking well within Technorati depends on Technorati tagging.

Research
When I am looking for information, and I only want blog results, Technorati is one of the blogsearches I check. It’s certainly the most recognized (kudos to the marketing team). I also use IceRocket, Sphere, gada.be, Ask’s blogsearch, Google Blogsearch and Yahoo’s Blogsearch.

Of course, I don’t use all of these, all of the time, but they make up my repetoire of blogsearch.
