One of the best ways to drive more traffic your way is to join a Yahoo! or Google group.  I’ve been an active member of the Yahoo! LinkedIN bloggers, Yahoo! Podcasters and Yahoo! Video Bloggers for months now, and recently was asked to join in the LinkedIN Bloggers as a moderator.  For a group that is 500+ strong now, that was quite an honor indeed.

But, how does that build traffic?  Networking.

People get to know YOU and they want to find more out about YOU.  Use these techniques to give them the opportunity to do so.

Signatures
Use a small email signature that is not obtrusive.  One liners are much more effective.  Make it a hyperlink if possible, because the easier it is to visit, the more commonly they’ll visit.

Take part in group discussion and events
For instance, today’s LinkedIN Bloggers’ blog boost is a Financial Tips blog.  By taking part in boosting this blog I am staying active as a member and cementing my relationship with the group.

Network and grow on these lists and you’ll see targeted traffic go to your blog (and you’ll see them return more often as well).

Contact members off list
To avoid list clutter and to really grow friendships off the list, contact like minded people off list.  As a result of the LinkedIN Bloggers group I was a founding member of the PodcastRoundtable and the opportunities I have gained through that position have been amazing.
