Flickr Uses

online networkingOne thing you learn after being online for a while is that taking part in chat rooms, forums, yahoo or google groups, and any community makes you friends quickly.

Flickr is no exception.

Their demographic is:

  • early adopter
  • under 40 years old
  • web 2.0
  • has some free time, if not much
  • web savvy
  • highly social

If this is who you are trying to reach, spend some time on Flickr.  Find some photos you like and add the people who added them to your contacts list. 

They will get a message that they’ve ‘been added’ and will usually add you back.  Then, you’ve been noticed, because they’ll read your profile, and you’ve given yourself an opening for conversation.
