Blogging Tips
How much keyword use is too much keyword use?
While your content should be keyword rich, there is a point where you are sacrificing readability for SEO. That’s never a bargain.
If you lose readers due to poor readabilty –> to gain search bots due to heavy keyword usage –> to gain readers, only to lose them once they see you more resemble a splog, then what have you gained?
Use your keywords, but read over your writings daily. If you can tell you are using keywords in the text, you probably have too many. See the below examples:
Ex. 1 - Successful businesses employ a blogger.
(plain english)
Ex. 2 - Successful Web 2.0 businesses employ a business blogger to help them gain online presence in the blogosphere.
(good keyword usage)
Ex. 3 - Successful Web 2.0 businesses employ a business blogger or other such blogger to help them gain blogging presence in the blogosphere where blogging is not only important but vital to a company’s blogging strategy.
(too many keywords)
Don’t feel you have to stick them in every sentence. Remember, with a Blogsite you get so many chances to enter keywords:
- Title
- Summary
- Body
- Keywords (logical)
- Link Title(s)
- Link Synopsis(s)
There’s no reason for ‘keyword stuffing’ when you have that many opportunities for pure SEO.
