Try to get online influencers to cover your work on their site.  This is an excellent method of driving high-quality and targeted traffic to your blog, and therefore to your actual homepage.  

Of course, that’s easier in theory than in practice.  Remember these guidelines when promoting your content to persons of influence within the blogosphere.

1. Become a frequent commenter on sites that you wish you wrote.  If there are people you admire, and you wish they would cover your site, get to know them.  Comment daily on their site.  Not two-word agreement comments, but comments that make the discussion rich.  Two weeks of this and you know them well enough to send them an email.
2. Don’t be afraid to advertise your content to net influencers.
   A little blatant self-promotion is necessary to get them to notice your site.  A well worded email, lets them know they might be interested in your post on a specific topic.
