Podcasting Goes Mainstream
Podcasting is starting to make a head-way into becoming mainstream. Magazines like The Yankee and TV networks like MTV and VH1 are putting out their own podcasts.
Until recently, podcasting has been something that many people had heard of but comparatively few had participated in it. Podcasts allow people to listen to audio or watch video files on demand by downloading them onto computers and portable devices.
"But podcasting has also struggled to be something that’s not just reserved for the loner music fan playing favorite tunes in his basement. It didn’t help that there have been few Web sites housing a significant catalog of podcasts."
It’s exciting to see the rest of the world begin to catch on to podcasting. It’s convenience for the end user furthers the popularity, but the PR boost a company gets from a podcast far outweighs the work involved in putting one together.
